DRIFTWOOD BEACH II is located on Jekyll Island, GA just south of Savannah. The trees that were still standing when I visited this location, stood very close to the ocean's edge, which I found remarkable being next to the ocean. The fallen trees which succumbed to the ocean and now driftwood, were a fascinating juxtaposition of life and death.
This work of art was created on an archival 18" x 24" canvas panel and painted with archival oil paint pigments. Plaster underlayment has been applied under the foreground trees to create texture and a sense of depth. Painting is signed on front bottom left corner. The title, size and medium are printed on the back of the work. Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist included. Painting ships unframed but frame may be added (contact me for details). Framed with 2.5" wide, flat panel with dark distressed wood.
